Charles Rennie Mackintosh was a British architect born in Glasgow and died in London (1868-1928). It is one of the precursors of Art Nouveau and its British counterpart, the Modern style. He is the main representative of the Glasgow School. He opposed the drifts of industrialization, advocating a return to medieval lines.
He is also recognized as a talented architect. He achieved international recognition by designing the Glasgow School in particular. With his wife Margaret Macdonald they will devote themselves to the creation of original furniture.
