RISPAL PARIS THE PRAYING MANTIS – No. 14950 American Walnut
Designed by RISPAL’s in-house team in 1950, lamp number 14,950 received the name Mantis lamp because it looks like the insect. It was presented to the public at the 36th Interior Designers Fair in Paris in 1952.
The iconic shade was added in 1955, made with pleated cellulose acetate, commonly called rhodoid.
