Designer Peter Shire revolutionized furniture design. Its use of geometric shapes and bright colors quickly caught the interest of aesthetes and design enthusiasts. Singer David Bowie owned a BIG SUR sofa.

Peter Shire was born in 1947 in Los Angeles where he lives and works. He opened his studio after studying at the Chouinard Institute. Very inspired by Art Nouveau, Modern Art and the Bauhaus, he has always been committed to mixing art with industrial design. His BEL AIR fouteuil made him famous. You can find works by Peter Shire at the Museum of Modern Art in San Francisco and at the MAD in New York in particular.
