MEMPHIS MILANO PLAZA DRESSING TABLE BY MICHAEL GRAVES (1981)

Michael Graves (1034-2015) was one of the most important American architects and designers of the 20th century. He is at the origin of a large number of monuments in the USA and has influenced a long line of architects. He created some works for MEMPHIS MILANO. This PLAZA dressing table (1981) is influenced by Art Deco and old hollywood glamour. The artist was inspired by the hotel Plaza in New York and the skyscrapers of the Big Apple. This achievement quickly became a cult object.
The designer and stylist Karl Lagerfeld owned several Memphis Milano furniture in his Monaco house, including this magnificent dressing table (see the last photo below)
