Memphis Milano Sirio vase by Ettore Sottsass (1982)

Ettore Sottsass was an Italian designer (1917-2007). He specialized in furniture, glassware, jewelry and industrial design. He was notably head of design at Olivetti. He is at the origin of their first computer for which he won the “Compasso d’Oro” in 1959. He was one of the founders of the Memphis group. in 1968 the Royal College of Art in London awarded him an honorary doctorate.
