Gaetana “Gae” Aulenti (1927-2012) was an Italian architect, interior designer, art theorist, teacher and director. She is behind the development of several museums including the Musée d’Orsay in Paris. In 1987 she was made a Knight of the Legion of Honor by François Mitterand.
His collaboration with Vinini allowed the creation of this magnificent work of art.
